The Chinese delegation to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Vienna reacted to the US claim over activating the anti-Iran snapback mechanism, declaring that the White House's allegations against Iran are invalid.

Iran PressEurope: "Now is the time to end the US anti-Iran propaganda show," the Chinese delegation to international organizations based in the Austrian capital, Vienna, tweeted Sunday afternoon.

The Chinese delegation added that UN Security Council sanctions will continue to be lifted and that the position of all parties remaining in Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) is clear.

The United States is no longer a party to the agreement and its claims over triggering the snapback mechanism are invalid.

The US State Department on Sunday morning claimed that all UN sanctions against the Islamic Republic of Iran, including arms embargoes, had been reinstated.

In response to the US claims that UN sanctions on Iran had been reinstated, in a joint statement on Sunday, the foreign ministers of the three European member states of the JCPOA reaffirmed their full commitment to UN Security Council Resolution 2231 which ratified the JCPOA in 2015.

US President Donald Trump unilaterally withdrew his country from the international agreement on Tuesday, May 8, 2018, in violation of Washington's commitments under the JCPOA, and announced the return of nuclear sanctions

Trump's move has drawn widespread domestic and international condemnation.
