Iran (IP)- Yam historical Caravanserai located 54 km from Tabriz, the capital of East Azarbaijan Province, northwest of Iran, is a tourist attraction on the Silk Road.

Iran Press/Iran News: The Yam caravanserai is located at the slopes of the Mishu mountains, in the city of Marand (eastern Azerbaijan region). It dates back to the Mongol and Safavid period, being on the transit route between Iran and Europe, and on the Silk Road, it has always aroused interest and is considered one of the most important transit structures in different historical periods.

The Yam caravanserai, built in an area where the nomad tribe's summer camps are located, with a mild climate and a beautiful landscape, was known as caravanserai Shah Abbasi among the people.

This caravanserai has been paid great attention by tourists because of locating in tourist way from Iran to Europe. After restoration, the caravanserai is now one of the 999 caravanserai called Shah Abbasi which provides the feasibility of visit for all tourists.

It has been renovated and revived by the cultural heritage organization in recent years.
