Tehran (IP) - Iranian president's Chief of Staff Mahmoud Vaezi in his tweet stated that the relations between Iran and Japan are long-standing and have always been based on friendship, trust and mutual respect.

Iran Press/Iran news: Iranian president's Chief of Staff Mahmoud Vaezi on Wednesday night in his tweet praised the efforts of the resigned Japanese Prime Minister Abe Shinzo in cooperation and developing relations between the two great nations of Iran and Japan.

Vaezi also wished for Abe's health and well-being.

Mahmoud Vaezi emphasized in this tweet that the relations between Iran and Japan are and have always been based on friendship, trust, and mutual respect.

Iranian president's Chief of Staff stated in the end; Iran welcomes the continuation of cooperation and constructive interaction with the government and the people of Japan.

The spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Saeed Khatibzadeh, wished health and success for Sinzo Abe last Friday, emphasizing Iran's will to strengthen relations with Japan and appreciating Abe Shinzo's attention to the relations between the two nations.

Shinzo Abe resigned last Friday due to concerns about his physical condition and illness.

Abe Shinzo is Japan's longest-serving head of government in terms of consecutive days in office.
