Fighting new state terrorism requires international cooperation

Tehran (IP) - On the occasion of National Day of Fighting Terrorism, Human Rights Headquarters of Iran's Judiciary called on independent governments to cooperate in developing international rules to fight state terrorism.

Iran PressIran News: Today, Saturday (August 29, 2020) is the anniversary of the martyrdom of the late President Mohammad Ali Rajaei and then-Prime Minister Mohammad Javad Bahonar, along with a group of cabinet members in 1981, and the National Day of Fight against Terrorism in Iran.

Issuing a statement, the Human Rights Headquarters of Iran's Judiciary noted that the US' imposing sanction on Iran and the support by its allies in doing so, is a new manifestation of state terrorism.

The statement pointed to the US and Western states' support of terrorist groups and said the nations of the world, including the American people, are the main victims of the US regime's policies of terror and support for terrorism. It also remarked that the military and illegal presence of the US in many parts of the world, including West Asia, is the main cause of escalating tensions and growing terrorism.

The Human Rights Headquarters of Iran's Judiciary stressed that the US and some of its Western allies must be held accountable for the crimes the terrorists committed and stressed on a serious confrontation with the terrorist policies and the US regime's acts as well as the fight against terrorism funding to eradicate terrorism in the world.
