China is willing to cooperate with other countries to build a community of shared future as the world faces trade protectionism and isolationism, Chinese President Xi Jinping said on Thursday.

President Xi made the remarks when meeting with international business leaders in Beijing attending the roundtable summit of the Global CEO Council.

Xi pointed out that although in 2017 global economy has been going steady, the world economy is still experiencing anemic growth.

Facing the challenges that trade protectionism, isolationism and populism continue to rise in the world, the Chinese president then proposed China's plans to deal with these risks from four aspects. 

He firstly noted China's Belt and Road Initiative is open and inclusive to all and China encourages multinational companies to cooperate with Chinese enterprises to achieve win-win results with pragmatic results.

Xi secondly mentioned technological innovation saying China regards satisfying people's yearning for a better life as the starting point and foothold of technological innovation.

As for green development, Xi emphasized China will use strictest laws and regulations to protect the ecological environment and leave a sustainable living environment for future generations.

Finally, Xi called on the international community to jointly build, share and take the road of reform, opening-up and innovation in terms of global governance. 

Xi stressed the positive role foreign investment has played in China's economic development and the process of deepening reforms. 

The Chinese president also said China's economic opening-up is playing a vital role in the development and will continue to do so with that good faith. 

Attendees to the summit are talking about how they have benefited from China's development, are willing to strengthen cooperation with China, and will participate in the Belt and Road Initiative.
