The fifth Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) wrapped up in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan, with participants emphasising the importance of regional security.

Iran Press/Asia: Heads of State and senior officials attended the closing session of the CICA Conference, with senior officials from Islamic Republic of Iran, Russia, China, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan agreeing on a communique on Saturday morning.

The conference drew to a close with the adoption of a statement.

During the summit, CICA leaders discussed the existing and emerging issues of common concern to members and underlined implementation of confidence-building measures for developing Asia into a prosperous, secure and peaceful region, Iran Press reported.

The fight against extremism, violence, and terrorism was one of the issues that the CICA Heads of State agreed upon and emphasised.
