A farewell ceremony for 110 holy defence era martyrs kicked off with the presence of people and senior military commanders on Wednesday night, 26th June 2019 in Tehran, at the Imam Khomeini Mossalla.

Iran Press/Iran news: General Bahman Kargar Head of publication and preservation of Holy Defence Values Foundation on the sideline of the ceremony said: "As Imam Khomeini has said, a nation who has culture of martyrdom will not be defeated. As long as we have the culture of martyrdom we shall be successful and victorious. Because the other side does not have this culture of martyrdom.

In further remarks, General Kargar said: "The power and authority of the Islamic Republic emanates from the Martyrs of the Revolution. We owe everything to our martyrs."

He said the shooting down of a US drone which was close to our boundaries by the IRGC showed the power and courage of Iran. We even made a public announcement following the downing of the US drone, showing that we are not afraid of the enemy. We have made enormous progress since the sacred defence era. At the beginning of the eight-year-war, we imported everything, even barbed wire.

General Kargar added: "Iran has made good achievements not only in military domain, but also in other scientific and technological domains, thanks to the blessings of the blood of the martyrs."

General Kargar went on to say: "As long as the Iranian people support this revolution and government we will be victorious and successful, while our enemies, despite using all tools at their disposal, such as imposing unjust and cruel sanctions, are actually losing the fight. The Iranian nation will be victorious."

He added, US cannot do anything even with sanctions, because the Iranian people have the culture of martyrdom.
