The head of Iran's Red Crescent Society has emphasized that his organisation is very active both inside and outside of Iran, and that Iran's Red Crescent Society is considered among the top ten such organisations in the world.

Iran Press/Iran news: The head of Iran's Red Crescent Society (IRCS) Ali Asghar Peyvandi, in an exclusive interview with Iran Press on Sunday, emphasized that Iran assists many countries who have experienced natural disasters and emergencies of various kind, showing Iran's close connections and direct assistance to many countries in the world, including in Asia, Europe and Africa.

Peyvandi added: "For example in the past Iran helped Pakistan during floods, also helped Bangladesh when floods damaged that country, also we provided assistance and valuable services to Iraq, Syria and Yemen during emergencies in those countries, and we even provided assistance and services to some African countries."

Peyvandi went on to say: "As far as training of our personnel is concerned we have special arrangements with Germany and one other European country, and the fact that the world federation has accepted this shows that the federation considers us as one of the leading rescue and relief organizations in the world."
