55th Week of Gaza Protest

On Wednesday, thousands of Palestinians marked Palestinian Prisoners' Day (marked on April 17 of each year) by staging demonstrations across the Israeli-occupied West Bank.

Protesters in Gaza demand the right of Palestinian refugees to return to their homes in historical Palestine from which they were driven in 1948 to make way for the new state of Israel.

Palestinians in Gaza have been demonstrating for 55th continuous week as part of the Great March of Return since 30 March 2018, calling for an end to the crippling 12-year Israeli blockade of the small coastal enclave, as well as the implementation of the right of return for Palestinian refugees, who form an overwhelming majority of Gaza’s population.
