Qom (IP) - Bahrain’s most senior Shia cleric outlined the so-called ‘deal of the century’ seeks to irreversibly compromise Palestinians’ entire entitlements.

Iran Press/Iran news: Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim said: "The US plan is devised to sell everything that Palestinians have, including Islam’s holy places."

He made the remarks when attending the second conference of resistance youths in the north-central holy city of Qom in Iran on Monday night, Iran Press reported.

The second conference of resistance youths held with the attendance of Young people from 60 countries to commemorate the Bahraini martyrs and condemn ‘the deal of the century’.

Sheikh Isa Qassim further stressed that there is no choice for the Islamic world but to resist America's plans for Palestinians.

“Rejecting the deal means rejecting slavery and accepting freedom,” he added.

“Washington's deal was a trial for Arab rulers that showed their true colors,” the senior cleric continued.

The deputy head of the executive council of Hezbollah, Nabil Qaouk, who also had a speech at the conference said: “The Qom conference is held to support Palestinians but Bahraini conference will be held to support Israel and the US.”

He pointed out that the Qom conference will restore the rights of Palestinians but the Bahraini conference is in favor of the US and Israel.

A senior official of Iraq's Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), Hashem al Heidari said, “The US is really scared of Iran because the country has a strong leader, IRGC, Basij volunteer forces, and faithful men and women.”

The White House on Saturday outlined a $50 billion Middle East economic plan which funds a $5 billion transportation corridor to connect the West Bank and Gaza.

The 'peace to prosperity' plan, set to be presented by White House senior adviser Jared Kushner at an international conference in Bahrain on Tuesday, which includes 179 infrastructure and business projects, according to details of the plan and interviews with US officials.

Palestinian officials on Saturday dismissed the so-called US plan nicknamed 'Deal of the Century' and said they remain opposed to the 'Peace to Prosperity' conference scheduled to take place this week in Manama, Bahrain.

Sheikh Isa Qassim noted that the Bahraini people are against both the deal and the Manama conference.

The Bahraini cleric described huge popularity among Bahrain’s Shia-majority population as a pro-independence figure.

He has proven to be a prominent source of inspiration for the nation’s 2011-present popular protests against the US-backed Bahraini authorities’ campaign of suppression targeting the Shias.

Over the past years, the authorities have been leading tremendous efforts to constrain Qassim’s freedoms and rights, including stripping him of his citizenship and raiding his house on numerous occasions, forcing him to live in exile since July 2018.
