Iranian karateka grabs gold in Morocco Premier League

Iranian Karateka in the weight category of +84kg received a gold medal in 2019 Karate 1-Premier League held in Rabat, Morocco.

Iran Press/Africa: Sajjad Ganjzadeh in the final match defeated Turkish rival 2-0 and snatched a gold medal. 

The event was held with the attendance of 661 karatekas from 71 countries on April 19-21, IRNA reported.

Meanwhile, Iran's Ali Asghar Asiabari was overpowered by Ukrainian fighter and received a silver medal.

Earlier, Taravat Khaksar, Hamideh Abbasali, and Saleh Abazari earned three bronze medals. Iranian squad has so far bagged one gold, one silver, and three silver medals.

The 2019 Karate 1-Premier League was held for participants to book a ticket for 2020 Summer Olympics.

The 2020 Summer Olympics, officially known as the Games of the XXXII Olympiad and commonly known as Tokyo 2020, is an upcoming international multi-sport event that is scheduled to take place from July 24 to August 9, 2020, in Tokyo, Japan. 101/201/213
